Cao'e Street is the first street whose industrial output value exceeded RMB 10 billion Yuan in Shangyu city. In 2008 it achieved RMB 18.5 billion Yuan industrial output value, and its every economic indicator occupied 1/5 in the gross of the whole city. It was appraised as one of the top ten towns which export by themselves and the town who introduced foreign capital very well in Shangyu. The Street has an obvious location advantage, and is infrastructure is perfect, and its industrial structure is reasonable. It formed the large industrial centralizing areas being the following-industries-oriented: mechanical equipment, fine chemical products, textile, illumination appliances, solar energy and environment-friendly energy. Many large enterprises, large groups and enterprises being excellent in certain industry came forth in this Street. By the end of 2008, there are 5 listed enterprises, 8 well –known trademarks such as Quanshitong, and 7 national high-tech enterprises such as Zhejiang Chenhui lllumination Co, Ltd. in this street. In past years the total foreign amount invested exceeded RMBO3. billion Yuan, and the contribution rate of such three kind of enterprises as foreign sole investment enterprise, Sino-Foreign equity joint ventured enterprises, and Sino-Foreign contractual joint ventured enterprises exceeded 30%. The enterprises from 25 countries and areas such as America, UK and Japan have invested here.
